Pottery/Ceramics Instructors

We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced instructors to teach students, from youth to adults. Responsibilities include teaching the techniques of ceramics/pottery and providing knowledge and skills for students to build on. Be part of a high quality pottery program and work in a growing art community within the John Michael Kohler Arts Center and Sheboygan. Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings, some weekends, and other teaching opportunities may be available based on schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute ceramics lessons in hand-building and the potters’ wheel (beginning to advanced levels)
  • Modify activities to meet the needs of individual students
  • Maintain the ceramics classroom
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • At least one year experience teaching ceramics
  • Kiln experience is a must
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to motivate students and explain concepts in an engaging way
  • BA in an art-related field is preferred

 Part-time position; hourly pay based on experience. $18–$24
