The Shebeegeebees are an original prog rock band hailing from Sheboygan, WI. The group formed in November of 2018 and consists of singer and guitarist Rick Dodgson, Ryan Brown on drums, and bassist Eric Rautmann. The Shebeegeebees’ songs are written by Dodgson who draws influence from The Beatles, David Bowie, and British prog rock bands such as Genesis, Camel, and Hawkwind. Dodgson’s music has been described as “the bastard stepchild of John Lennon and Johnny Rotten.” Born and raised near Manchester and Liverpool, England, Rick Dodgson got his first guitar at 15 and has been writing and playing music since. In 2011, he wrote “Mission to the Stars: A Space Rock Opera”. Rick has worked as a handyman, plumber, soccer referee, a deckhand on Mediterranean boats and in the Gulf of Mexico. He ran his own solar heating company in Wales, UK and is presently an Associate Professor of History at Lakeland University. Dodgson is the author of the book It’s All a Kind of Magic: The Young Ken Kesey and is currently working on a follow up. Sheboygan native, Ryan Brown has been drumming since 1996. He has played in the bands Otter, The Pink Lipsticks, The Weekend Honeys, and has been a member of the Chicago based Tri-State Blues Band since 2012. Ryan is influence by bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Doors, Rush, The Black Crowes, and The Rolling Stones. Brown is fluent in German and frequently travels abroad for work. He is currently expanding his musicality by learning to play guitar.

Originating from Sheboygan Falls, Eric Rautmann first picked up the bass guitar at the age of 14. He has played in a number of bands including Absolute Zero, Vertigo, Two Fisted Slobber Knocker, The Meatheads, and Da Gof Rockerz. Drawing inspiration from R.E.M., Eddie Vedder, Joe Jackson, and Elvis Costello, Eric is a singer/songwriter who can be found playing ukulele or acoustic guitar at an open mic. Other than music, Rautmann is a jack of all trades who enjoys art, theater, cooking, DIY projects, wrestling, retro video gaming, and fatherhood.
