Jeff Baenen
Kenosha based wood artist, Jeff Baenen, has been honing his craft for over 20 years. Drawing, pointillism, woodworking, and creative problem solving have been his lifelong passion. Jeff’s 25 year career as a mechanical designer has run parallel to his art career each role informing the other to work smarter and to push creative boundaries.
Early in Jeff’s career he was inspired by the works of notable box makers such as Peter Lloyd, Andrew Crawford and Phil Weber. He continues to read and collect as many books on box making as he can and is constantly striving to add to his woodworking knowledge (and his tool collection). From practicing his craft in the kitchen of a small studio apartment to purchasing a home based on the size of his studio – Jeff’s creative vision and love for his artwork has only grown over time.
Jeff has shown his work in local and national art exhibits, galleries, and museums. Among his awards he has been named Master Craftsman twice by the nationally running Woodworking Shows.
