Ivy Baucom
Ivy Baucom is a self-taught fiber artist from Wisconsin. Always straddling the line between hobbyist and artist or art versus craft, she isn’t one to quickly claim an identity or a medium. Initial flirts with fiber art began with felt storybook landscapes, personalized puppets, set production, costume design, and embroidery. In her more recent fiber arts practice, Ivy has explored themes of fairy tales, pop culture, and nostalgia for the daisy emblazoned days of her youth.
Ivy’s work has been featured in Hyperallergic magazine and shown at the Pandemic Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles. She currently produces pieces under the name Not Just Snakes and is the permanent artist-in-residence at her home in sunny downtown Milwaukee.
