Deborah Reichard

Deborah Reichard’s work is as much about a visual language of form, material, object, and function, as it is about mimicking nature in the home and yard. She takes a new approach to preexisting formats such as baseboard molding, and instead of making a molding for the masses, she makes one that is personal, idiosyncratic, humorous, thoughtful, and/or site specific.

Reichard has shown her work at PS 122 Gallery (NY), Arts Council of Princeton (NJ), the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh (PA), Nightingale Gallery (OR), Anne Reid Gallery (NJ). She has been an artist-in-residence at Sculpture Space (NY) and Arts/Industry at Kohler Co. (WI). Her work has been reviewed in The Observer, The Artful Blogger, New Jersey Stage, and Princetoninfo.com, among others. She has taught at the University of Washington, University of Colorado, and Indiana University. Reichard received her BFA from The College of New Jersey and an MFA in ceramics from the University of Washington.
