Michael Bishop’s work has been exhibited at Gallery Nev (Turkey), Skinner Howard Contemporary Art (CA); Limn Gallery (CA); Snidle S.F. Projects (CA); Michael Himovitz Gallery (CA); Museum of Art, Hacettepe University (Turkey); Redding Museum of Art (CA); the Fukushima Biennale (Japan); Vartai Gallery (Lithuania), and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (CA), among others. Bishop has made commissioned artworks for the city of Golden, Colorado; Sacramento Metro Arts; Limn International Redevelopment Commission; and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, among others. He has been an artist-in-residence at Istanbul Glass Furnace (Turkey), West Texas A&M University, Kurtz GmbH (Germany), the John Michael Kohler Arts Center’s Arts/Industry at Kohler Co. (WI), and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Germany), among others. His work is in the collections of Kurtz Holding GmbH & Co. (Germany), Triton Museum of Art (CA), John Michael Kohler Arts Center (WI), di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art (CA), and Thurston Twigg-Smith Foundation (HI), among others.
Bishop earned a BA from CSU East Bay, an MFA from San Jose State University, and attended California College of the Arts and Crafts.
