Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels

Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels is an Australian artist now based in New York City where she earned her MFA in visual arts at Columbia University. Bothwell Fels makes site-responsive installations that often embed into preexisting architecture with sculptures that sit somewhere between folklore, science fiction, and speculative magical feminism. Her sculptural outcroppings subvert mundane expectations of place and transform them into the out-of-the-ordinary, exploring how environments can shift perceptions of being. She has permanent installations at April Base in Eau Claire, Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, the Clocktower Gallery in Brooklyn, and Silent Barn in Brooklyn.
