Mike Riesch

Mike Riesch grew up in the fascinating landscape of southern Wisconsin.  There he developed what became a lifelong interest in nature, geology and the earth sciences.  While living in Washington, D.C., Mike had an opportunity to work as a volunteer at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.  Later, living and field collecting in Colorado provided valuable experience and the inspiration for his work in the earth sciences.

During the last thirty years, Mike designed, developed and has continued to curate Earthaven Museum near Gillett, WI.  His goal is to foster a better understanding of the earth and its treasures.  He is a frequent presenter of programs on all aspects of earth sciences.
