Lee Pao Xiong
Lee Pao Xiong is the founding director of the Center for Hmong Studies at Concordia University, St. Paul, and a professor of American government/political science. He has held key roles in Minneapolis housing and HMong organizations, where he chaired the Livable Communities Committee on the Metropolitan Council and advised on housing and transportation. Appointed by President Clinton, he was the first HMong presidential appointee, focusing on Asian-American and Pacific Islander issues. Xiong co-founded initiatives such as the Hmong Resource Fair and chairs boards for Sepak Takraw of USA and the Hmong United Martial Arts Society. A sought-after speaker, he is a stark supporter of HMong cultural arts and collections.
