Laurel Roth Hope

Laurel Roth Hope is a self-taught artist who uses traditional techniques of carving, ceramics, embroidery, crochet, and collage to transform ordinary materials into elaborate animal sculptures that are both playful and poignant. Her work is influenced by her background as a park ranger and focuses on the relationship between humankind and nature, touching on topics such as environmental protection, animal behavior, and species extinction.
Her work is included in many prominent collections including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Museum of Art and Design in New York, the Zabludowicz Collection, The Progressive Collection, 21C Museum, and Crystal Bridges Museum. Laurel Roth Hope and frequent collaborator Andy Diaz Hope were awarded the Artist Fellowship at the de Young Museum of San Francisco in 2012, where they completed the third and final tapestry of their triptych, The Conflicts.
She is represented by Gallery Wendi Norris in San Francisco.
