Benjamin Todd Wills
Benjamin Todd Wills creates art that functions as a metaphorical portrait of American institutions such as penal systems. His work coalesces around nostalgia, the environment, and social justice. Wills often relies on collaborative engagement for his works to be realized. He provides space in his projects for participants to express creativity and longing, and to experience themselves in the role of the artist. Wills has held various faculty positions at Washburn University in Kansas and at the University of Iowa. He has had solo exhibitions at the Mulvane Art Museum in Topeka, Kansas; the Salina Art Center in Kansas; the ASGEFA Gallery in Iowa City, Iowa; and the Sinclair Gallery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
