Shawn Busse

Shawn Busse creates large-scale, site-specific installations from materials such as cast porcelain, steel, and wood. His work explores futility and the individual’s role against a larger, more powerful cultural backdrop. Busse has shown his work at SW School of Arts and Crafts (TX), Blackfish Gallery (OR), Abandoned Warehouse (OH), Portland Art Center, Schneider Museum of Art (OR), Lamar Dodd Art Center (GA), and Central Art Gallery (OR), among others.
He has attended artist residencies at Southern Oregon University and Arts/Industry at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (WI). He has received the Dankook Award from Southern Oregon University. Busse received his BFA in ceramics and painting from Southern Oregon State College and an MFA from Ohio University. He is the principal and creative director at Kinesis in Oregon.
