Hosseinali Saheb Ekhtiari

Hosseinali Saheb Ekhtiari was born and grew up in Iran and attended college where he earned a BFA in crafts. Hossein continued his education in the US and graduated with an MFA in Ceramics from Rhode Island School of Design in 2013. After a lot of immigration hurdles, he moved to the Village of Kohler working for Kohler Co. Hossein is a lead industrial designer in Vitreous Advanced Development.

Prior to 2023 the couple’s artwork centered around larger installation pieces and 2-D tiles. Today, the couple makes works that they feel would continue to live in peoples’ homes for generations. The feeling the pieces generate while being used as a functional object energizes and excites both artists. Maryam and Hossein are trying to bring fine design and delicacy into everyday lives while being mindful of the planet and the resources it provides us. All of their pieces are handmade and painted or carved in porcelain in their home studio.
