Christine Federighi

Christine Federighi’s distinctive artwork won local, national, and international acclaim. It consisted of life-size human figures, environmental installations, and folk animals. She was particularly influenced by American Indian and other tribal art. Federighi was a five-time recipient of the State of Florida’s Individual Artist Grants, a National Endowment for the Arts awardee, and a Virginia A. Groot Foundation fellow. She served for thirty-two years as head of the ceramics department at the University of Miami. Federighi received her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art and her MFA from Alfred University in New York.
