Kristin Gudjonsdottir

Kristin Gudjonsdottir was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, in 1966. Gudjonsdottir gets most of her ideas from nature and tools that have been used by farmers and fishermen through the centuries. She uses mostly found and recycled materials in her work.
Gudjonsdottir’s work has been shown in galleries and museums in southern and northern California; Sun Valley, Idaho; and Seattle, Washington. She had her first solo show in Iceland in the summer of 1996. She was an emerging artist-in-residence at Pilchuck Glass School in Washington in 1995. She was an Arts/Industry resident in 1996. She had a one-person museum show in Iceland in 1998, and in 2002 she did her third residency at the Sanitary Fill Company in San Francisco
She graduated in 1995 with a BFA degree in sculpture and glass from the California College of Arts and Crafts.
