Molly Hatch

Molly Hatch’s formal education is in ceramics and drawing. She received her MFA from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Hatch has taught at the School of the Museum of Fine Art at Harvard University. She was a visiting artist at Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts, Kansas City Art Institute, and California State University in Sacramento. Her work has been exhibited internationally in venues including Santa Fe Clay, the Clay Studio, and Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas, Mexico.
Hatch describes her work as functional ceramics that reference decorative and fine arts. Until her Arts/Industry residency, Hatch hand built all of her work. During her residency she utilized industrial processes and expanded her possibilities of production through slip cast multiples. She credits Arts/Industry as being instrumental in her career, as it helped shape her collaboration with industry as a product designer. In 2010 Hatch launched her first tableware collection, and today her signature collections can be found at partner retail locations worldwide.
