Yoshiko Kanai

Yoshiko Kanai works in sculpture, watercolor, and video. Her residencies have included the John Michael Kohler Arts Center’s Arts/Industry at Kohler Co. (WI) and The Artists’ Work Program at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin. She has also been awarded numerous fellowships, including the Asian Cultural Council Fellowship, MoMA P.S.1 International Studio Program in New York; Bamboo Curtain Studio Program in Taipei, Taiwan; New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship; and a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Fellowship.

Kanai graduated with a BA and MFA from Tama Art University, Tokyo. She also attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine.
