Carol Kliger

Colorado-based Carol Kliger creates hand-built, wood-fired tableware and sculptural pieces from clay. She likens her process to assembling puzzles and sketches in clay. She works in series that consist of groups of two, or three, or more tiles.
Kliger began wood-firing in 2005. Since then, she has developed an individualized vocabulary of form and surface.
Carol Kliger’s work has been exhibited at Foothills Art Center, Colorado; The Clay Studio, Pennsylvania; and Missouri Western State University. She has received numerous awards for her ceramic work, as well as a Neodata Endowment for the Arts and Humanities grant. Kliger has participated in the Ucross Foundation artist residency in Wyoming.
Kliger holds an MFA in ceramics from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Bachelor of Art Education from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb.
