Carolyn Ottmers’s work combines organic and industrial elements, merging nature with the urban environment.
Her work has been exhibited at Elmhurst Museum (IL), Carrie Secrist Gallery (IL), Indianapolis Art Center (IN), Betty Rymer Gallery (IL), Ironbridge Gorge Museum (UK), Walker Art Gallery (NE), Grounds for Sculpture Museum (NJ), Riverside Arts Center (IL), and Klein Art Works (IL), among others. Her work has been reviewed in New Art Examiner, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, and Contemporanea, among others. Ottmers received her BFA from University of Texas, Austin and her MFA from the School of the Arts Institute of Chicago.
