Martha Poggioli

Martha Poggioli, born in Brisbane, Australia, is a Colorado-based interdisciplinary artist. Her work explores systems of production and cultures of consumption to consider how communities and bodies contend with the material world. Her practice involves industrial engagement and minimally invasive surgical device technology.
Poggioli has participated in numerous residencies including the Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program, Australian Tapestry Workshop, the Ox-Bow School of Art as a LeRoy Neiman Foundation Fellow, and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center’s Arts/Industry residency in the foundry. Poggioli’s work has been included in exhibitions internationally including at the Mütter Museum (Philadelphia), Kunstgewerbemuseum (Dresden), RMIT Design Hub (Melbourne), SPACES (Cleveland), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center (Seattle), Weinberg/Newton (Chicago), MassArt Art Museum (Boston), Rhona Hoffman Gallery (Chicago), and the Rochester Museum of Contemporary Art (Rochester).
Poggioli holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BFA from Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
