Sara Clugage
Sara Clugage is interested in how individuals connect over food and in the parallels between today and the Gilded Age (1870–1910) that relate to the unequal distribution of wealth. Since 2015, her practice has centered on a series of salon dinners themed on the economic models and culinary styles of different periods in art history. She is the editor-in-chief of Dilettante Army and she often teaches workshops on craft and Wikipedia as part of the Wikipedia campaign Art+Feminism. She has lectured at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Warren Wilson College. Her work has been widely exhibited at venues, including the Hercules Art Studio Program, New York; Pelican Bomb Gallery X, New Orleans; and the Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland, Oregon.
