Yasmin Spiro

Yasmin Spiro is an architectural artist who grew up in Kingston, Jamaica, and currently resides in Chicago, Illinois. She earned her MFA and her BFA in painting at Pratt Institute in New York. Spiro’s work explores cultural identity and socioeconomic issues within the framework of social politics and urban development. Through the use of installation, sculpture, film, drawing, and mixed media, her work charts personal journeys between different geographies and urban locations. Her recent work is exhibited at the National Gallery of Jamaica, Chicago Artists Coalition, COMO Miami, and Recess Arts in New York.
