Testa Rosa
Rock
Testa Rosa is a band’s band,” it has been said, whose lush pop music is an homage to ’70s and ’80s studio recording. At their increasingly rare performances, the audience is often comprised of fellow musicians and creatives. “When it comes to catchy, haunted pop songs, they are in a league of their own,” says Shepherd Express, with recordings “recalling the lush harmonics of The Carpenters, the studio-perfected pop of Big Star, and the cheerful release of power-pop contemporaries like The New Pornographers.” Featuring members of some of Milwaukee’s most critically praised indie bands (The Lovelies, Little Blue Crunchy Things, Field Report, The Frogs, The Hallelujah Ward), Testa Rosa is Betty Blexrud-Strigens (vocals and guitar), Damian Strigens (lead guitar), Paul Hancock (bass), Bill Backes (drums), and Nick Berg (keys). They’ll be playing songs from each of their 4 studio albums.
