Marcela Torres

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Marcela Torres is residing in a transitory journey between Utah, Illinois, and New York. Torres received a BA in sculpture intermedia and a BFA in art history from the University of Utah, continuing their studies in MFA in performance from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Torres has performed at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts (Omaha, Nebraska), The Momentary (Bentonville, Alaska), Fringe Festival (Detroit, Michigan), Experimental Actions (Houston, Texas) and Time Based Arts (Portland, Oregon).
Torres has exhibited work at Recess (Brooklyn, New York), Hyde Park Art Center (Chicago, Illinois) UW-Parkside University (Kenosha, Wisconsin), Tropical Contemporary (Eugene, Oregon), and Petzel Gallery (New York City). In 2021, Torres was a resident at Creative Exchange Lab at the Portland Institute for Contemporary Arts and Denniston Hills Residency.
