Christy Wittmer
Arts/Industry: Foundry, 2018
Christy Wittmer’s work balances experimentation with skilled craft to create sculptures and installations that challenge expectations of function and notions of stability.
Wittmer earned an MFA in ceramics from the University of Cincinnati and a BFA in sculpture and painting from Miami University. She just returned from Jingdezhen, China, where she spent ten months making artwork and learning traditional techniques for working with porcelain as part of a Fulbright grant.
