Too Long; Didn’t Read!
Part social hour, part show and tell, part book club—TL;DR League (Too Long; Didn’t Read) brings the Arts Center’s Considering Kin theme into sharper focus through short-form content such as flash fiction, short films, articles, music, podcasts, and recipes.
An artist, writer, professor, or activist facilitates each meeting. They will each select conversational material that requires very little preparation from participants before the event. A link to or screening of the material will be provided.
You are welcome to engage in conversation about the materials, or to listen and learn from ideas that develop during the gatherings. The themes and subjects that arise in TL;DR League meetings offer a deeper understanding of kinship, belonging, and community building.
TL;DR League meets the last Thursday of the month, September 2023 through February 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Central Time. (The exception being the September and October meetings, which are two-part gatherings.) Meetings will be held in the JMKAC Social STUDIO, in the JMKAC theater, at the Art Preserve, or virtually via Zoom. Please check each event listing for the exact location.
Preregistration is preferred to attend these free events, and you are welcome to attend one or all TL;DR League gatherings. For Zoom events, the meeting link will be sent to you following your registration.
