We will venture to the Art Preserve where concrete sculptures depicting Black history and the life experiences of Dr. Charles Smith can be seen. Dr. Smith’s work will get us talking about identity, activism, and more. A hands-on project will follow.
SPARK! is a creative engagement program for people with memory loss and their caregivers. It is free to attend, and the activities differ each month. A session typically begins with a visit to one of the Arts Center’s exhibitions, followed by a hands-on activity or art project in the Social Studio. SPARK! is a safe environment in which people can be themselves and let their imaginations roam freely. All sessions are held at the Arts Center at 608 New York Avenue unless otherwise noted.
SPARK! is supported by Mersberger Financial Group, Inc. and Home Instead.
Additional support come from the Kohler Trust for Arts and Education, the Frederic Cornell Kohler Charitable Trust, Kohler Foundation, Inc., and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
