Join Exhibition Artist-in-Residence Sarah Rowe and Maywood Environmental Park for a workshop celebrating our connection with local waterways.
We will explore the Pigeon River corridor while learning about Rowe’s practice and gathering natural materials. After heading back to Maywood’s Ecology Center, we will use those materials to create bundles inspired by an Indigenous practice of wrapping spiritually significant items to use in ceremonies or altar spaces. These bundles will be incorporated into an installation by Rowe for her August exhibition at the Arts Center.
Water Language Workshop at Maywood is supported by the Kohler Trust for Arts and Education, Ruth Foundation for the Arts, the Frederic Cornell Kohler Charitable Trust, Kohler Foundation, Inc., and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
