Dear performer. I want to show you something. Did you know, in Farsi my name is written like this: ‘.ROUPNAMIELOS MISSAN si eman yM’

From Iranian playwright, Nassim Soleimanpour comes an audacious new theatrical experiment. Each night a different performer joins the playwright on stage, while the script waits, unseen, in a sealed box…

Touchingly autobiographical yet powerfully universal, NASSIM is a striking theatrical demonstration of how language can both divide and unite us. NASSIM follows Soleimanpour’s globally acclaimed White Rabbit Red Rabbit, which has been translated into over 25 different languages and performed over one thousand times by names including Stephen Fry, Ken Loach, and Whoopi Goldberg. It was winner of the Scotsman Fringe First Award at Edinburgh Fringe 2017.

NASSIM was originally commissioned and produced by the Bush Theatre and received its world premiere at the Bush Theatre, London, on July 25, 2017.

“A different actor bounds onstage every night to open an envelope stashed inside a banker’s box: It’s the first page of the script, which will eventually unite Mr. Soleimanpour and the actor in an affectionate double act. NASSIM speaks eloquently of living and working in a place with a language not your own.”— New York Times

“A tantalizing theatrical provocation that breaks down all walls between stage and audience.”  –The Stage

“An unusually vivid celebration of theatre’s liveness”  –The Guardian

NASSIM is exhilarating fun, but also touching, moving and soulful. It’s very entertaining and funny. The play will be different every time, but it’s a gamble worth taking. ”–The Hollywood Reporter
