In 2017 the Arts Center, in collaboration with curator Faythe Levine, commissioned Norma Jeanne Maloney of Red Rider Studios to re-create two banners Ames used to advertise his “museum.” These responses were made for an exhibition of Ames’s work at the Art Center titled Folk & Fable, but will now be displayed on the Ames stage at the Art Preserve. These banners, along with Ames’s crates and cello, reference a historical photograph of Ames and his family with Ames’s tent show.
